Juventus underwent many changes this past summer; the first was hiring a new manager, Thiago Motta. Afterward, the Serie A side had to secure players who fit his style of play, and one of them was Khéphren Thuram.

Thuram signed a five-year contract with the Bianconeri following a €20 million transfer from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice. Despite adapting to a new league, one pundit believes that Juventus should give Thuram the starting job in midfield.

The 23-year-old made 167 appearances across all competitions during his time with the French club. Thuram also scored nine goals and recorded 12 assists for Nice.

It's been a challenging start for the France international while at Juventus since he's dealt with a Hamstring muscle injury that caused him to miss three matches. As a result, Thuram has only featured in two games so far this 2024-25 season.

Khéphren Thuram is an important part of Thiago Motta's Juve team

Sky Sport Italia journalist Giovanni Guardalà noted that Thuram needs to be in Juventus' starting 11 after explaining why the player is a vital part of manager Thiago Motta's squad.

"[Thuram's] been the most reliable option in this early part of the season, showing solid form in preseason and in his brief appearance against Como," Guardalà said (h/t TuttoJuve). "Although he had an injury, he came back for the Empoli game and continues to be a key player for Motta.

"So, we’re anticipating him starting. For the lineup, Empoli’s defense will remain the same. Up front, Yildiz might start on the bench, with Nico Gonzalez potentially moving to the left wing. That would see Weah on the right and Koopmeiners playing behind Vlahovic."
