Earlier this year, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba received a four-year ban for a doping offense. However, new updates indicate that he might be back on the field sooner than anticipated.

The lengthy suspension initially posed a serious threat to his career, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Pogba’s ban has been reduced to 18 months. This means he is expected to return to action in 2025.

Pogba can start training with Juventus in January and will be eligible to play in official matches by March. It will be interesting to see how Juventus approaches this situation and whether manager Thiago Motta will include the midfielder in his plans.

Don't expect Paul Pogba at Juventus

Transfer expert Nicolò Schira reports that Pogba is not part of Juventus’ plans and won’t be returning to the team. His agents are currently looking into options on the market, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and MLS expressing interest in the French midfielder.

Juventus' legal team is awaiting an official statement from CAS regarding a potential reduction of his ban. Once that’s settled, they will terminate his contract, which is set to expire in June 2026, for just cause.

Regardless of what the future holds for Pogba, the player is content with returning to the pitch as soon as he offers a reaction to his suspension being reduced.

"Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again. I always stated that I never knowingly breached Anti-Doping regulations; I play with integrity, and I want to thank the Court of Arbitration who heard my explanation.

"This has been a hugely distressing period in my life because everything I’ve worked so hard for has been put on hold. Thank you for all the love and support. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch!"
