The future of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United remains uncertain, especially after last weekend's 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. As a result, rumors of potential coaches to replace him are surfacing.

Manchester United are facing a tense situation following a disappointing start to the season has put ten Hag's job at significant risk, and the club's management is already exploring possible replacements.

Recently, English newspapers have floated the idea of a stopgap solution until the end of the season, with Red Devils executives potentially eyeing Simone Inzaghi from Inter. However, there’s also the option of bringing in a big name right away.

Looking to Italy seems increasingly likely, especially with the support of a notable figure: Sir Alex Ferguson. Moreover, the candidate the former Manchester United manager advocates for is someone with a long history at Juventus.

Massimiliano Allegri to replace Erik ten Hag?

Gazzetta dello Sport reports (h/t Calciomercato) that Allegri has an influential supporter in Sir Alex Ferguson. The legendary Scot, a respected figure in the United community, has long admired Italian football and believes Allegri is the type of manager, like Carlo Ancelotti, that the Red Devils need right now.

Allegri's candidacy is gaining traction, especially since he's available after parting ways with Juventus. Thomas Tuchel—who has managed Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea—could also be in contention should the sacking of ten Hag occur.

During his two stints at Juventus, Allegri won Serie A five times, Coppa Italia five times, and two Supercoppa Italiana trophies. It will be interesting to see if Allegri does bounce back and ventures abroad to coach in the Premier League.
