After Salah was dropped to the bench for the past three matches, the 33-year-old hit out at the club and claimed in a controversial interview that he had been thrown under the bench. He added that his working relationship with Liverpool head coach Arne Slot had completely broken down.
The two-time Premier League winner's remarks have resulted in him being omitted from Liverpool's squad for tonight's Champions League match at Inter Milan. Salah yesterday shoot back by posting on social media an image of himself training along in the gym at Liverpool's training complex.
Slot has claimed he was surprised by Salah's comments, and admitted that he had no clue whether the Egyptian goal-getter would ever play for the club again. Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, whose manager is former Juve target Simone Inzaghi, are reportedly ready to launch a January bid for Salah.
The winger will set off for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) on Monday, with his future at Anfield in severe jeopardy. Although he could be involved in Saturday's Premier League game when Brighton & Hove Albion visit.
Diomande and Yildiz on radar
Liverpool are exploring a pair of potential replacement wingers in the shape of 19-year-old RB Leipzig Yan Diomande and 20-year-old Juventus hot-shot Kenan Yildiz. They have both shown blistering pace, silky skills and composure far beyond their tender age.
A plethora of Premier League club are also monitoring Diomande, who will be tackling AFCON 2025 with the Ivory Coast squad. Scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have recently monitored his presence.
Diomande has found the back of the net seven times and provided four goal assists from his 15 Bundesliga appearances this term.
Yildiz has attracted European giants in England, Germany and Spain. He was employed as a false no9 for the first time by Juventus when they visited Napoli last weekend.
Juve tactics don't deter Turkish talent
Although the Turkish talent was ineffective during arguably Juve's worse 45 minutes for decades, manager Luciano Spalletti switched things around for the second half with Yildiz scoring during the largely one-sided Serie A showdown.
With five goals in the Italian top tier this season, Yildiz's valuation of around €100 million (US$116.5m) seems a snip for a player who is viewed as a future Ballon d'Or winner.
Liverpool's defense of the Premier League title has stuttered following their superb start to the campaign, with the Reds languishing in 10th position and a staggering 10 points behind leaders Arsenal.
Slot needs to stop the rot, as they lie in 13th place in the Champions League, and splashed almost
€500m (US$581m) in the summer.
Yildiz could team up with Chiesa
A reliable and swift replacement for Salah is among their priorities when the January transfer window opens, with Yildiz ticking all of their boxes. Liverpool urgently need to refresh their attack, and Yildiz could join former Juve team-mate Federico Chiesa.
Italy striker Chiesa, who joined the Reds in August 2024, has yet to impress, He made 131 appearances during his four-year spell with the Turin titans, and was shipped out by the then head coach Thiago Motta for a bargain price of just €12.5m (US$14.5m).
Although Juventus would like to keep Yildiz, there has been a stand-off between the player and the club. The Bianconeri have tabled a dramatic salary increase with an extended contract, but the figure is lower than Yildiz's super agent Jorge Mendes believes his client is worth.
With so many leading clubs offering a more acceptable wage than Juve are prepared to offer, as well as the promise of chasing silverware, Yildiz could be lured to leave Serie A and the fallen Italian giants in the winter if Liverpool wish to accelerate their serious interest.
