Real Madrid eyeing €35M-rated Juventus star in latest bid to strengthen defense
By Eduardo Razo
Real Madrid could approach Juventus for a key player as the Spanish side looks to bolster its backline next summer. After signing Kylian Mbappé this past summer as a free agent, Los Blancos were relatively quiet.
However, that might not be the case next year when they'll look to spend money to ensure they have more youth on their defense. Andrea Cambiaso has been a marquee player for manager Thiago Motta this 2024-25 season.
The 24-year-old has made nine appearances this season while scoring one goal and recording one assist for the Old Lady. Nonetheless, it's the player's growth that has caused Real Madrid to take an interest in the left-back.
Andrea Cambiaso is on Real Madrid's radar
Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato) reports that Real Madrid have the defender on their radar to bolster their backline. However, this isn’t the first inquiry Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has received about Cambiaso, and it’s not the most serious either.
Over the summer, Aston Villa considered offering €35 million, but Giuntoli quickly shut that down. As for the interest from the LaLiga side, there are no further details as to how serious they plan on pursuing the Juventus standout.
The Juventus and Italy full-back made headlines after scoring in Italy's 2-2 draw against Belgium this FIFA international window, boosting his reputation as one of Serie A's top players in his position.
Cambiaso is under contract until 2029, so Juventus has leverage in any conversations regarding a potential transfer away from the Serie A side. The defender joined the Turin-based club in 2022, and since then, he's made 48 appearances, scored four goals, and registered seven assists.
