Juventus strengthened their attack this summer by bringing in Nicolás González and Francisco Conceição, but could they have landed another forward this past summer?

Mundo Deportivo recently cited information that Juventus are still monitoring Ferran Torres. The Barça forward, who has started the last two matches under Hansi Flick, is generating interest from the Italian club.

The Old Lady’s interest in “El Tiburón” goes back to last summer’s transfer window, as they’re looking for someone to support their leading offensive player, Serbian Dušan Vlahović.

Juventus have been following Torres for a while now, even when he excelled in Spain’s youth teams, but he seems happy in Barcelona. Moreover, the Italian side passed on signing the Spaniard this past summer.

Why Juventus opted not to pursue Ferran Torres this summer

TuttoJuve reports details of what transpired this past summer with the Barcelona forward. According to the Italian media outlet, Arsenal turned down the opportunity to sign Torres during the summer transfer window, opting instead for a loan deal with Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.

Barcelona had offered Torres to help free up salary space and generate funds for additional attacking signings, but Mikel Arteta and his team decided against the move. Juventus was also approached about Torres this summer but ultimately declined due to the high costs involved.

Since joining the Catalan side in 2022, Torres has made 123 appearances across all competitions, scoring 26 goals and registering 15 assists. It will be interesting to see if Juventus revisit this file in the future if they want to bolster their attack.

How much could a potential transfer for Torres cost? Transfermarkt puts the player's transfer value at €30 million for the player under contract until 2027.
