The Serie A giants announced that they had secured the signature of the central defender, who can also be utilised at left-back, which completed their transfer business.

The English ace joins a trio of new arrivals. Head coach Thiago Motta had already signed right-back Alberto Costa, striker Kolo Muani and versatile defender Renato Veiga during the transfer window but missed out on a handful of targets.

Kelly joined former manager Eddie Howe at Newcastle on a freebie in the summer from AFC Bournemouth, having turned down the advances of Juventus.

He made seven seven starts and seven substitute appearances for Newcastle before the Bianconeri renewed their interest.

His loan includes an obligation to buy, but the figures are undisclosed although his price tag was €15 million (US$15.55m).

The Juventus official announcement read:

“Lloyd Kelly is a new Juventus player!

“Juventus are pleased to announce the signing of versatile and talented defender Lloyd Kelly, who has signed a loan deal, with an obligation to buy, until 30 June 2025.

“Arriving from Newcastle United in the English Premier League, Kelly brings with him experience, physicality, aerial strength and a solid defensive reading of the game.

“Welcome to Juventus, Lloyd!”
