Juventus drew their second straight match, but, as with the Atalanta game, they were fortunate to get a point.

It has been a rough spell for Juventus and manager Maurizio Sarri, who has come under fire after the Bianconeri blew a 2-0 lead for the second time in three games. They lost 4-2 to Milan last week, were fortunate to draw 2-2 with Atalanta after two handball penalties, and then tied Sassuolo 3-3 after also being outplayed for most of the game.

Here are the full player ratings from another poor performance by the Black and Whites.

GK Wojciech Szczesny

Definitely the Man of the Match for Juventus. Yes, the team allowed three goals, but they would have allowed at least five if it weren’t for Wojciech Szczesny’s excellent shot-stopping. He is the best goalkeeper in Serie A, and Juve would have been even more embarrassed without him.

LB Alex Sandro

Juve would have also lost without Alex Sandro, who scored the third goal to tie the game and then cleared the ball off the line with his head to prevent the Bianconeri from going down 4-3. The left back struggled to start the game and was poor in his last two substitute appearances, so it was good to see him eventually bounce back.

More from Old Juve

CB Giorgio Chiellini

Giorgio Chiellini returned from an injury to get the start, and then he left the game at the half with an injury. He didn’t make a positive impact.

Rating: 5.5 out of 10

CB Daniele Rugani

Daniele Rugani came in for Chiellini in the second half. He wasn’t as bad as against Milan, but he still played poorly.

RB Danilo

Danilo scored a wonderful first goal for the Bianconeri off a well-worked corner, and he had a jam-packed day on the stat sheet. The Brazilian right back, per WhoScored.com, recorded four tackles, four interceptions, and four clearances. He even added a pair of key passes. Clearly, Danilo is much more comfortable on the right than the left, which only means it makes for sense for Juve to sign a left back this summer.

CM Blaise Matuidi

Blaise Matuidi has given a lot to Juventus over the years, but he’s no longer a starting-quality player for the Bianconeri. The French midfielder blocked two shots and worked hard, but he added nothing offensively. Adrien Rabiot is the much better option right now.

CM Miralem Pjanic

The clear highlight of the night for Miralem Pjanic was his long-range assist for Gonzalo Higuain, as the regista set up the Argentine striker brilliantly. It was a throwback pass from Pjanic, who is one of the best deep playmakers when he gets the chance to show it. Pjanic finished with five key passes, two assists, and two tackles as the quiet star of the midfield.

Rating: 7.5 out of 10

CM Rodrigo Bentancur

Rodrigo Bentancur seemed to suffer an injury during the draw, but he made an impact before the injury. The young Uruguayan had four tackles, two key passes, and an assist.

Rating: 6.5 out of 10

LW Cristiano Ronaldo

For the first time since Serie A’s restart, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t score. He was poor in this match. Ronaldo failed to create for others, didn’t get into dangerous positions, and wasted 10 shots. A day to forget for the star forward.

Rating: 5.0 out of 10

ST Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain started over Paulo Dybala, who was surprisingly removed to accommodate Higuain instead of the woefully out-of-form Federico Bernardeschi. He did well on his goal, but it was basically set on a platter for him by Pjanic. Other than the goal, he offered absolutely nothing. And sadly, that’s not a surprise.

RW Federico Benardeschi

Another subpar showing from Federico Bernardeschi, who was less helpful to Juve’s attack than backup right back Danilo. Bernardeschi had three key passes, three dribbles completed, and three fouls drawn, but those are empty stats. Once again, he didn’t help build to any goals and lost possession cheaply.
