Juventus could be in the market for a No. 9 once the January transfer window opens in two months. The question is whether the Serie A side wants to pursue a player to rival Dušan Vlahović or a striker that can surpass the Serbian forward.

After a slow start in Serie A, where he had two goals in his first five league games, the 24-year-old is beginning to heat up. Vlahović has recorded four goals in his last four Serie A matches, so the striker is starting to find his rhythm.

Moreover, in the UEFA Champions League league phase, the Juventus standout has two goals and one assist in three matches. As a result, it wouldn’t make sense for the Old Lady to pursue a player who will only serve as the player’s backup and not challenge them to take the starting job away from him.

Luka Jović is struggling to find minutes with AC Milan, only having made three appearances so far this season. As a result, the Serbian striker could be a player that Juventus secure at a bargain. However, one journalist doesn’t see Motta and his team pushing for the former Real Madrid player to bolster the No. 9 position.

“I don’t have any confirmations, but I think he’s a player who might not be of interest to Juventus,” Journalist Gianluca Viscogliosi told JuventusNews24.

“While a rotational striker could make sense, pursuing someone like Jović feels contradictory to Juventus’ philosophy. Sure, if there’s a need, he could be considered as a backup for Vlahović, but overall, it doesn’t align with their plans.”
