Chelsea €30M-rated outcast reportedly on Juventus' radar for next move
By Eduardo Razo
The January transfer window is just weeks away, and Juventus is already looking for a replacement for Gleison Bremer. After suffering a cruciate ligament tear, Bremer is expected to miss the rest of the 2024-25 season.
As a result, rumors are swirling about potential defensive targets for the Old Lady once the window opens. Paris Saint-Germain’s Milan Škriniar, who has seen his role diminished at the club after leaving Inter Milan, has been linked with a move.
Another name on the radar is Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, who could be a more budget-friendly option for Juventus if they are looking for a temporary fix. However, there’s now talk of another defender the club might target.
Who is the latest defender linked to Juventus?
Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus have made Chelsea defender Benoît Badiashile a January transfer target as they look to solve their defensive injury issues.
Badiashile arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2023 from AS Monaco, but the Frenchman has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. The 23-year-old has made eight appearances this 2024-25 season for the Blues and is under contract until 2028.
Moreover, in Premier League action, Badiashile has only played 37 total minutes, which is why a potential move in the January window could be in the cards for the player as he looks to become a starter. Juventus could secure the defender on a loan move rather than paying a transfer fee.
While the reporting doesn’t reveal how much the Premier League side could ask for in a potential transfer, Transfermarkt values the player at €30 million.
