The January transfer window is approaching, and Juventus could look to bolster their backline as they prepare for a second half that currently involves a grueling Serie A title race, considering how tight the table is at the moment.

Juventus are currently occupying sixth place in the Serie A table but they only trail first place Napoli by two points. As a result, the slightest margins could determine who wins the league and even occupies the UEFA Champions League spots for the 2025-26 season.

The Old Lady's calling card this season is their defense as Thiago Motta and his team have only conceded seven goals. If they're going to win the league this campaign, Juventus could look to bolster their defense to ensure that the backline is why they lift a trophy.

Andrea Cambiaso is Juventus' starting left-back, but the depth behind him might be questionable. Juan Cabal arrived this past summer to challenge for that position, but the Colombian defender's season is likely over after he tore the ACL in his left knee.

Cambiaso needs a reliable backup to give him a game of rest or in case the player suffers an injury. The latest report from the Daily Mail reveals that Juventus could sign defender Ben Chilwell on loan in January as the 27-year-old searches for game time at Chelsea.

Chilwell has only made one appearance for the Blues this season in the EFL Cup, so the January window presents an opportunity for the defender to get more playing time and help Juventus have more depth in their left-back position.
