Juventus attacking pair sparks interest from Bayern Munich

The German giants are keeping an eye on the situation of two of the Bianconeri’s goal-getters, with the duo also on the radar of a plethora of clubs.

Juve have been among the goals all season, especially in their past two home matches against Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund, but next season they could lose star names.

Lois Openda, who is on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig, and Dusan Vlahovic could be plying their trade away from Turin next term and for Bundlesliga titans Bayern Munich.

Both have previously been linked with Bayern, but the team is keeping close tabs on the 25-year-old strikers for a potential summer swoop as their goal is to strengthen their attack with some variation.

Openda boasts Bundlesliga experience

Unorthodox Belgium marksman Openda spent two seasons in the Bundlesliga, and was hot property after bagging a glut of goals in his inaugural term.

His goal tally dramatically tailed off in his last campaign,  with Juve taking a gamble by securing his signature on the transfer deadline day after Kolo Muani’s expected return collapsed.

Openda is more versatile than traditional no9 Vlahovic, yet they  offer precision finishing and a physical presence.

The German side have had their eye on Serbia star Vlahovic, Juve’s top scorer for the past three seasons, for a considerable time. His red-hot form this campaign, having netted four goals after coming off the bench, has resulted in renewed interest.

Vlahovic’s Juventus contract expires in June, and if he fails to sign a contract extension will become a free agent.

A move during the most recent transfer window was only down to Vlahovic rejecting teams or clubs unwilling to pay his steep salary, transfer fee and agent fees.

No need for Juventus negotiations

With the Juventus pair on Bayern’s shortlist, the scenario is favorable for the Bavarian club as they would not have to enter negotiations with the Bianconeri. Openda is still with his parent team of RB Leipzig, while Vlahovic or his agent could discuss a move.

Both strikers should remain at the peak of their careers for the next couple of seasons, and would be more of a commodity if Juve manager Igor Tudor decides to start playing the pair in a new tactical formation.

Something has to be tweaked with Tudor’s current 3-4-2-1 tactics, which at least have proved highly entertaining in recent weeks, otherwise they can expect to keep on conceding goals against top-notch teams.

Although the pairing of Openda and Vlahovic from the start has yet to be tested, and if successful could bring only short-term rewards for Juventus.
