No Juventus players are perceived to be indispensable, with leading lights Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz up for grabs.

Bianconeri boss Luciano Spalletti inherited a lightweight squad from Igor Tudor, and after a plethora of rotations has got the team back to the Juventus winning mentality that was clearly absent when both Thiago Motta and Tudor were head coach.

Yet there remain numerous Juve players who could be moved on during the winter transfer window, although the Bianconeri have rejected the initial move by Genoa to take shotstopper Mattia Perin.

The 33-year-old's deal expires in June 2027, but Genoa are exploring his return to the club where he made his name before being lured to Juve for €16.3m (US$19.1m) in January 2018.

Perin went back to Genoa on a short-term long in February 2020, when he reached a milestone 200 appearances for the team.

The second choice keeper rarely gets minutes at Juve, so he is seeking a Serie A switch to become a regular in the Italian top flight. Juventus are monitoring a number of potential replacements should Perin return to Genoa.

Newcastle chase Juve's David

At the other end of the pitch, goal poacher Jonathan David is hardly setting Serie A alight. The Canada marksman is firmly on the radar of inconsistent Premier League side Newcastle United, after Juve decided to put him on the winter transfer list.

Despite Vlahovic being sidelined until at least March following an adductor injury that required surgery, David is not a guaranteed starter and his displays have been pretty dismal.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming up, David wants to spearhead the co-hosts attack. Yet his lack of playing time with the Turin titans threatens his international call up.

David arrived as a free agent with a highly lucrative salary, so Juventus would be delighted to cash in on their misfiring striker as well as trim their wage bill. Although David has been reported in Italy as being part payment in a deal for Newcastle ace midfielder Sandro Tonali, this seems a highly unlikely scenario.

Discarded Italy on AC Milan radar

Defender Federico Gatti has experienced a torrid time this season, dropped by Italy, fallen down the pecking order under Spalletti and recently suffering a knee injury that required surgery.

A swap deal with AC Milan, which would reunite Gatti with former Juve head coach Max Allegri, is a realistic exchange next month. It appears that the center-back needs a change of club in order to convince Azzurri manager Gennaro Gattuso of his worth.

Versatile midfielder Weston McKennie has been a sensation under Spalletti, in stark contrast to constantly being overlooked by Tudor. Contract renewal talks have stalled because of agent fees, leaving Juventus in a position to preferably sell him rather than lose the US international for free next summer.

Although McKennie has been linked with a handful of Serie A sides, including Fiorentina, there has been speculative that he next wishes to tackle the MLS.

Exit on cards for Juve midfielders

Juventus Next Gen standout Fabio Miretti, whose summer transfer to Napoli was scuppered by an injury, is now on Lazio's wishlist. The Bianconeri have slapped a price tag of €15 million (US$17.6m) on the young midfielder who hardly gets a look in under Spalletti.

Summer signing Joao Mario, who came through the ranks at FC Porto, on a wanted man at Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old midfielder has clubs in England, Portugal and Spain showing serious interest.

FA Cup holders Palace lead the chase for Mario, capped three times by Portugal, on a short-term loan with an option to buy although the club's manager Oliver Glasner will leave at the end of the season and is on Juve's managerial shortlist.

The Bianconeri are also contemplating a swap deal for flop Mario involving defender Rafik Belghali, who has excelled since joining Verona in August.

Vlahovic has January suitors

Star striker Vlahovic, who has been linked with Liverpool, has been singled out by Barcelona as a potential successor to their veteran hot-shot Robert Lewandowski.

Vlahovic, who has a gentleman's agreement with Juventus to kick off contract renewal negotiations at the end of the season when his deal expires, has interested the Catalan club to such an extend that there have been initial talks between Barcelona and the Serbia ace's agent.

Recruiting the 25-year-old him on a free transfer in the summer appears more likely than splashing the cash in the winter transfer window. Clubs in England, Germany, Italy and Spain have been monitoring Vlahovic's contract situation with Milan leading the race to secure his signature if a move to Barcelona falters.

Mendes sets Yildiz price tag

Yildiz, Juve's prized asset, is still waiting for clarity about his contract extension with Juventus. There has been relentless interest in the Turkish winger ever since his agent Jorge Mendes touted that Yildiz was worth €100m (US$117.4m) last January.

Chelsea tabled a lower offer in the summer, which the Bianconeri promptly rejected. There's been real interest from European giants in England. Germany and Spain that recently included both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur eager to sign Yildiz next month.

Spalletti's impressive run of seven wins from Juve's eight matches is down to his tactical approach and his ability to give the entire squad some much-needed self belief.

With their final two Champions League group phase games coming up next month, these are must-win contests against Benfica and Paul Pogba's AS Monaco. Reaching the lucrative stages of the knockout competition is essential to the club, and could define Spalletti's Juventus future.
