Juventus are reportedly setting their sights on LOSC Lille’s Jonathan David as a potential No. 9 addition for the 2024 summer transfer window. However, securing the Canadian striker’s signature might prove to be a daunting task for the Italian giants.

A report from TuttoJuve in November indicated that Juventus will have to contend with interest from at least two Premier League sides to land David. The 24-year-old has reportedly outlined his financial expectations, which include a €6 million annual salary and a €10 million agent commission—demands that could stretch Juventus' resources and potentially rule them out of the race.

David, who has scored 101 goals in 209 appearances since joining Lille in 2020, has drawn attention from Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle United, further complicating Juventus’ pursuit.

The Canadian forward’s impressive form and potential availability on a free transfer have made him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. Juventus will need to navigate financial hurdles and fend off fierce competition if they hope to bring David to Turin.

David is shaping up to be one of the hottest names in the summer transfer market. But for now, the Canadian forward, nearing the end of his contract with Lille, has added another twist to the speculation surrounding his future. Speaking to La Voix du Nord, David kept the door open for all possibilities.

“Renewal? As President Letang has said several times, discussions are ongoing," David said (h/t Bianconera News). "We’re talking, but no decision has been made yet. I’m not ruling anything out—it’s a 50-50 situation.”

A recent report from TuttoJuve claims that Manchester City are targeting a proven striker to complement Erling Haaland next summer as the 2023 European champions aim to strengthen their squad. However, a move to Juventus appears unlikely.
