Juventus seem to be targeting a new No. 9 for next summer, with Jonathan David from LOSC Lille reportedly in their sights. However, a journalist warns that the Italian club will need to monitor two rival teams if they want to land the Canadian striker.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto noted that the 24-year-old has opted not to extend his contract with Lille. In his column last month for CaughtOffside, he pointed out that Inter Milan is making significant strides in their pursuit of David, though the competition remains fierce.

Since joining Lille in 2020, David has scored 96 goals in 200 appearances across all competitions. Recently, Arsenal, Juventus, Tottenham, and Newcastle United have all been linked as potential destinations for him.

In the latest report from TuttoJuve, the Italian media outlet notes that the Canadian has made his financial demands known when he signs as a free agent.

According to the report, David is asking for €6 million per season, along with a €10 million commission for his agent when he signs.

These high demands could potentially lead David to the Premier League as they could be too much for a club like Juventus.

TUTTOmercatoWEB recently reported that FC Barcelona and Inter Milan pose the biggest threats to the Old Lady. However, if David has these financial demands, a move to England could be the solution.

"In the meantime, there is the usual significant interest in Jonathan David," the outlet noted. "The Lille striker will become a free agent at the end of the season, which is why he is highly sought after.

"Inter and Juventus are closely following the situation in anticipation of next year. Barcelona are also ready to act to have another option up front alongside [Robert] Lewandowski. Tottenham should not be underestimated either. In short, the situation is evolving."
