Juventus could be looking to bolster their defense next summer as they have their eyes already on one player. It's Year 1 under new manager Thiago Motta, and it will take multiple transfer windows to mold the squad into his vision.
The club didn't address the center-back position this summer. Juan Cabal arrived from Hellas Verona, but Juventus focused mainly on the midfield and wingers.
Nonetheless, that doesn't mean the Serie A side doesn't have certain players on their radar that they could monitor this 2024-25 season to determine whether or not to make a run at them next year.
Feyenoord standout enters Juventus' radar
TuttoJuve reports that Juventus are monitoring Dávid Hancko as they search for defensive reinforcements. The Slovakian has impressed their scouts, but it’s unclear if technical director Dennis te Kloese will be open to selling him, especially with a price tag of at least €40 million.
Hancko recently signed a contract extension with Feyenoord, tying him to the club until mid-2028. This move might mean his current team could demand an even higher fee next summer.
Moreover, the reporting reveals that Atlético Madrid had shown interest before but didn't pursue it further, and Napoli was also considering him.
The 26-year-old has been with Feyenoord since 2022 and his made 97 appearances across all competitions for the Dutch side. Additionally, he's scored 12 goals and recorded nine assists during his three years with the club.
It's early in the process and it will be interesting to see if Hancko remains a player Juventus are keen on or if other targets emerge as this season goes along.
