Juventus remain unbeaten under new manager Thiago Motta, with two wins and a draw, placing them second behind Inter Milan with seven points. Despite the excellent start to the 2024-25 season, pundits view Napoli as a Scudetto favorite and having a better team than the Old Lady.

Motta and his team are tied with four teams with seven points through three matchdays in Serie A and have a goal differential of plus six. As the 42-year-old molds the team into his vision while securing points early in the season, they're not viewed as title contenders.

I Bianconeri are in Year 1 of Motta's project after an underwhelming last couple of seasons in Serie A. As a result, it's no surprise that Juventus aren't seen as title contenders this campaign.

Does Napoli have a better squad than Juventus?

Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni shared his thoughts on Radio Deejay about who he believes will win the league this season, notably leaving Juventus out of his list of title contenders.

"Normally, Inter would win," Zazzaroni said (h/t JuventusNews24). "Personally, I’m hoping for a Napoli victory—that's my biggest wish. They’re not focusing on the eight Champions League games, but they’ll definitely impact decisions significantly, aside from injuries. I really like Milan and Napoli when it comes to their squads."

Meanwhile, former Italian sports director Enrico Fedele stated that Napoli have a better squad than Juventus this season. He doesn't state that Antonio Conte and his team will win the Scudetto, but they should occupy a UEFA Champions League spot; whether it's as champions remains to be seen.

"If Napoli doesn't make it to the Champions League, it would be a big deal," Fedele said on Radio Marte (h/t TuttoJuve). "I think this Napoli team is much stronger than others, including Thiago Motta’s Juventus, so I’m confident they’ll do well, but we’ll see. As for the competition from the Roman clubs, I don’t even consider Roma and Lazio."
