Tottenham Hotspur have identified Juve's leading defender as a priority signing during January transfer window. The Londoners wants to maintain their stable three center-back system to ensure quality competition behind Kevin Danso, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with Gleison Bremer. He is under contract with Juventus until June 2028, who have set a €80m (US$94m) release clause although he was available in the summer for €60m (US$70.5m).
The 28-year-old Brazilian missed the majority of last season because of a serious knee injury.
Bremer played every minute of Juve's opening six Serie A matches last season, before tearing his ACL.
He has only played four Serie A games this term, and not featured for the Bianconeri since 27 September. Sidelined since mid-October, when he underwent surgery on the medial meniscus of his left knee, there are plans to get him back on the pitch.
Big bucks on Bremer salary
Bremer extended his contract until 2029 last year, when Thiago Motta was manager. He became the second highest earner at the club, behind Dusan Vlahovic, to collect an annual wage of €9.2m (US$10.8m) although now summer signing Jonathan David picks up a higher salary with the Turin titans.
Head coach Luciano Spalletti needs to shore up the leaky defense, which got the better of Igor Tudor over his seven-month spell at the helm. The plan is to reintroduce Bremer to the Continassa Training Centre on a part-time basis to ease him into the set-up
With Spalletti having kicked off his tactical approach of rotating his squad, to avoid overloading players like Tudor did because he only persisted with his favorites, Bremer could be back in action as early as next weekend's clash at Antonio Conte's Napoli.
It seems an ambitious move for Bremer as the contest against the defending Serie A is expected to be a bruising battle. A gentle introduction would be the Champions League visit of Pafos on 10 December, and if he comes through unscathed then could play against highflying Bologna at their Renato Dall'Ara stadium on14 December.
Brazilian is a Juve fan favorite
Bremer has proved to be a pivotal player since arriving at Juventus in 2022, having chalked up 96 appearances in a Juve jersey, which means the Bianconeri will be reluctant to sell such a prized asset.
He came through the Clube Atletico Mineiro in Brazil before joining Torino in a €5.8 million (US$6.8m) deal seven years ago where he made 110 appearances. He moved across the city for €46.9m (US$55.1m) in July 2022, signing for the then head coach Max Allegri.
His first two seasons resulted in starting all 83 matches for Juve, and made Bremer a fan favorite. Being as solid as a rock has garnered the attention of a plethora of European giants over the years, with Spurs in pole position to swoop.
Bremer kicked off this season by playing in Juve's three opening league games, was rested for a match before captaining the Bianconeri in what was his last Juve appearance before his latest meniscus injury.
The jury is out as to whether Bremer would be able to pass a physical examination should Spurs or any of their Premier League rivals want to splash the cash on strengthening their defense.
