Both AC Milan and Juventus are eager to land a reliable right-back, and a veteran Lucas Vazquez is being considered.

After the 34-year right-back’s contract with Real was not renewed, the former Spain international was proposed to the Serie A giants.

Cash-strapped Juventus are always interested in a free agent, as long as the salary demands are not outrageous. Juve have become highly interested in Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina. The club had the Argentina ace on their radar three years ago, just months before he lifted the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Vazquez joined the Real youth academy as a 16-year-old and was shipped for a season-long loan at Espanyol. He made his senior Real in 2015, becoming a pivotal player during the club’s highly successful era.

Having been outstanding at right-back, he also was frequently implemented at right midfield and as a right winger at Real. His versatility and experience should also attract both former Juve boss Max Allegri at Milan and current Juventus manager Igor Tudor.

Vasquez's impressive Real record

Vasquez made over 400 appearances for Real, capturing a staggering 23 trophies that included four La Liga crowns and five Champion League triumphs.

His in-built winning mentality fits in wonderfully well with Juve’s DNA of victory at all costs, and despite his advanced age he could make a massive contribution in the dressing room as well as potentially becoming a super sub for the Bianconeri.

Allegri who has just lured Real icon Luka Modric to the Milan, could potentially pair him up with his former team-mate Vazquez and that could tilt his transfer away from Juventus in favor of Milan.
