The 26-year-old Nigeria international has bagged a dozen goals from 17 league games during his loan spell at Galatasaray.
Exiled by Napoli boss Antonio Conte, he failed to secure a winter transfer switch due to his €75 million (€78.1m release clause) and wage demands.
Al-Ahli, Barcelona, Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester United were the main clubs linked with the hot-shot forward.
Osimhen was in blistering form during Napoli’s 2022/23 Serie A title triumph, but he was unable to replicate his scoring exploits the following season.
Having fallen out of favour at Napoli saw him twice come perilously close to leaving, with Saudi Arabia Pro League outfit Al-Ahli and English free-spending side Chelsea both agreeing an undisclosed transfer fee with Gli Azzurri.
Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United will continue to monitor his availability, with a summer swoop on the cards for the proven goalscorer.
The only obstacle appears to be his transfer fee, although the only reason that Osimhen didn’t join Chelsea was because he was dissatisfied with the personal terms.
Before Juventus head coach Thiago Motta can splash the cash on Osimhen, he has to deal with the trio of strikers at the club.
Kolo Muani has impressed since last month’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, scoring five goals in his Serie A appearances.
Should his career get rejuvenated at the same blistering pace as his goal scoring, then the Ligue 1 leaders may not wish to relinquish such a prized asset. They could also demand an extraordinarily high fee for the 25-year-old.
Dusan Vlahovic, who three years ago turned down the overtures from Arsenal to move to the Bianconeri, has slipped down the pecking order under Motta this year.
He seems subjected to playing a bit part for Juve, only utilised as a super sub or if there are injuries to other forwards.
The Serbia striker has a high price tag of €80m (€83.2m) for a player whose contract expires in summer 2026, meaning that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United could patiently wait for signing him. Juventus will be aiming to cash in on Vlahovic, but if he rarely plays then naturally his value will plummet.
Yenan Yildiz, considered to be one of soccer’s next superstars, has yet to make a consistent impact. He scooped the Serie A Goal Of The Month accolade for January, but playing off the left shoulder of Muani has resulted in very few chances to impress.
The Turkish teenager is being linked with major clubs, including Barcelona, with super agent Jorges Mendes recently spotted dining with the 19-year-old’s parents.
His valuation of €90m (€93.7m) seems high, and until he starts regularly finding the net for Juventus then he’ll remain with the Turin titans.
Motta has been under immense pressure since December, although has had to contend with his squad being ravaged by various injuries.
Supporters posted #MottaOut on social media channels following the abject Champions League display at home to Benfica, while the club board have sounded out ex-Barcelona boss Xavi as a potential summer replacement.
The defence has been shored up thanks to bringing in new faces during the recent transfer window. Midfield needs a shake-up, with out-of-form Douglas Luiz expected to return to the English Premier League during the summer.
That leaves the frontline to revamp. Muani has instilled confidence into the team, but could only be a short-term fix. This season’s top scorer Vlahovic remains unhappy as an outcast.
The club is busy casting the net for their next goal machine, with Osimhen high on their wishlist. On top of needing to iron out personal terms and negotiate a fee, there’s also the potential sticking point of Napoli refusing to sell to their close rival.
Motta may have overseen some dreary draws, last-gasp victories and numerous insipid displays. Yet the club remain on course for a last 16 berth in the Champions League, and have only suffered one Serie A defeat this campaign.
If Motta can add the firepower of Osimhen, who notched 26 goals in 30 Serie A matches during the 2022/23 season, the fans and club board should have more faith in the former Bologna boss should Osimhen swiftly become a cult figure with the Bianconeri.
An alternative to bringing in Osimhen is Moise Kean, who since leaving the Turin giants in the summer has been a revelation for Fiorentina. A return to Juventus, for a third stint, cannot be discounted.
