With tight transfer business under Juve general director Damien Comolli this summer, the club have struggled to sell many of their unwanted players to finance bringing in new faces.
Big bucks could easily be collected if interested teams splash the cash on midfielder Douglas Luiz, winger Nicolas Gonzalez or center forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Both Brazilian ace Luiz and Serbian star Vlahovic have appeared desperate to leave Turin and make a move to the Premier League.
A plethora of teams have been linked with Luiz, who was a marquee signing for the Turin titans last summer. The former Aston Villa standout is edging closer to joining Nottingham Forest.
Vlahovic, whose agent visited English top tier teams in a bid to broker a deal, only has glimmers of renewed interest from Newcastle United.
Juve pair are natural goal-getters
Yet Vlahovic and Gonzalez are garnering serious interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, and could make a switch to La Liga over the next couple of weeks.
Vlahovic has been a long-term target for Villarreal. He was heavily linked with Barcelona after he produced some impressive pre-season performances, which included making the scoresheet three times in four brief appearances.
His contribution to the team, and continuing to be a reliable goalscorer, has put the 25-year-out back in favor with Juventus head coach Igor Tudor.
Canada international Jonathan David was brought in as a free agent last month, but he made four Juve appearances before breaking his duck in spectacular style. He lacks pace and is a renowned goal poacher, rather than a physical presence like Vlahovic.
For Juve to lose Vlahovic, especially when they have not sealed a deal for the potential season-long loan of striker Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, would surely leave them short of firepower.
Gonzalez, despite only becoming a permanent Juventus player on 1 July, is available for a hefty fee. The club have already lined up David’s former LOSC Lille team-mate Edon Zhegrova.
Atletico attacking reinforcements eyed up
Atletico boss Diego Simeone has just signed Italy international Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli, who plays as a secondary striker, and wants to sharpen his attack.
Gonzalez relentlessly created goals and scored at Fiorentina. Yet he experienced an indifferent spell during his season-long spell for the Turin titans, mainly because he was often played out of position.
Vlahovic, who has finished as Juve’s top scorer each season since joining from Fiorentina in January 2022, is approaching his peak but slipped down the pecking order under Tudor last term.
Atletico are eager to secure a deal for the attack-minded duo. Although the Comolli would be happy to collect monies for Gonzalez and Vlahovic, Tudor has indicated that he would like the pair to stay.
David has taken time to settle at Juventus
Bringing in a proven marksman is easy but getting the goals is a different ball game, as witnessed by David’s arrival. Gonzalez, if given the freedom and not implemented as a wing-back, could produce the same sparkling form he did at Fiorentina.
Tudor has inherited a squad that he tried to tweak and offload. There is bound to be an air of despondence at the training ground with so many names on the Juventus transfer list.
Clubs have been reluctant to simply splash the cash on Juve’s unwanted men, which has made the summer transfer window frustrating for Juventus and their fans.
To lose Gonzalez and Vlahovic, who should gel in La Liga to leave the Bianconeri kicking themselves, would be a massive loss for Tudor. There are Serie A sides waiting in the wings should Atletico not land a deal for the pair, but selling stars to Italian rivals is to be avoided.
