Juventus traveled to France on Tuesday night for a UEFA Champions League showdown. The Serie A side drew the contest 1-1, and the two clubs took away a point.

Jonathan David gave the Ligue 1 club the lead with a goal in the 27th minute. Lille went into halftime with their 1-0 advantage, but in the second half, Thiago Motta and his team responded as Dušan Vlahović converted a penalty kick to level the scoring 1-1.

Following Matchday 4 in the Champions League, Juventus is currently in the playoff zone and two points out of automatic qualification for the knockout stage of the competition.

In an interview with TuttoJuve, L'Equipe's Elvin De Fazio spoke about the contest and noted that the Old Lady should've secured all three points rather than settling for a draw.

"The performance in the north of France was overall very good," De Fazio told the outlet. "I think Juventus deserved to go home with three points. I was at the match and saw an aggressive team that wanted the three points, but they lacked ruthlessness. More will be needed."

Nonetheless, De Fazio criticized Motta, notably in the second half when he made some questionable substitutions to try and find that go-ahead goal over the home side.

"I honestly didn't understand the coach's substitutions," De Fazio added. "It's on nights like this that we see the limits of those coming off the bench; for me, something is still missing. I wouldn't have taken Vlahović off; I think we should have continued with a forward at that point in the match."
