Inter Milan emerges as top choice for Juventus' €12M-rated target
By Eduardo Razo
Juventus may be exploring options to boost their attack for next season, and Monza’s Daniel Maldini could be a promising addition to their lineup.
Over the summer, Juventus strengthened their midfield by signing Teun Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz, and Khéphren Thuram. Yet, questions remain about whether the club is considering further reinforcements in that area.
Injuries have impacted both Luiz and Thuram early in the 2024-25 season. Meanwhile, with Paul Pogba’s doping suspension now reduced to 18 months, it’s clear his future no longer lies in Turin.
So far this 2024-25 season, the 23-year-old has scored one goal and recorded one assist. While there's upside there with the player, one pundit hopes that the young ace doesn't end up in Turin.
Pundit weighs in on Juventus' interest in Daniel Maldini
A recent report from Sky Sports Italy states that Inter Milan, Juventus, and Atalanta are monitoring the 23-year-old, who has a €12 million release clause in his contract.
If a foreign club shows interest, the clause would increase to €15 million. Notably, Milan would receive 50 percent of any transfer fee, though they do not have the right of first refusal for Maldini.
Antonio Cassano, during the show Viva El Futbol, criticized Milan's decision to sell Daniel Maldini to Monza for free. Speaking about the player's future, with many linking him to Juventus, he shared his opinion on where he would like to see him play:
"I really like Maldini," Cassano said (h/t TuttoJuve). "His biggest problem is the surname he carries; everyone used to call him a 'nepotism player!' It would be truly wonderful to see him at Inter in the future, I hope with all my heart. People should really get upset with this club!"
