The January transfer window is approaching, giving Juventus a chance to find a defender to fill the gap left by Gleison Bremer, who is expected to miss the rest of the 2024-25 season due to a torn cruciate ligament injury.
As a result, rumors of the Old Lady pursuing a center-back have emerged over the last few weeks. One name in the rumor mill is AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, who could be on the way out as he's falling out of favor with manager Paulo Fonseca.
Last month, Paolo Paganini reported that Juventus have also set its sights on Tomori, who is under contract until 2027, as a reinforcement once the January window opens. The English defender, along with long-time target Jakub Kiwior, is reportedly among the names on the list to cover Bremer's absence due to injury.
What's the latest on Fikayo Tomori's future at AC Milan?
Calciomercato reports that Tomori isn't in Fonseca's good graces as he's been on the bench for three out of four matches in Serie A and the Champions League. This is a new experience for the English center-back, who hasn’t faced this level of scrutiny in his four seasons with the Rossoneri.
The Italian outlet also notes that Tomori’s stint at Milan could come to an end next summer. There are rumors about Juventus being interested in him, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
A return to the Premier League is also a possibility, as he has quite a few admirers there. Milan is willing to consider a transfer, but they’ll only let him go for an offer that exceeds €20 million, per Calciomercato.
