Juventus defender Gleison Bremer is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after being forced off just six minutes into the 3-2 UEFA Champions League victory over Leipzig earlier this month.
As a result, speculation is growing about how the Old Lady will look to fill the gap left by Bremer. In a recent interview with TuttoJuve, former Juventus midfielder Massimo Bonini expressed his support for the Serie A side to sign former Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar to strengthen their defense.
"Skriniar is an important defender, skilled, and he knows our league very well," Bonini told the outlet. "I think the management will make moves to improve the squad during the winter transfer window, and someone could also arrive in attack."
Juventus have their eyes on another Brazilian
According to Tuttosport (h/t Bianconera News), Juventus are considering a deal for Flamengo's Leo Ortiz. With the January transfer window approaching, the Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their squad after Bremer's injury exposed defensive vulnerabilities.
A Juventus representative recently scouted Ortiz during the Copa do Brasil match between Corinthians and Flamengo as the 28-year-old defender could be a valuable addition. However, Flamengo, where former Juventus player Alex Sandro currently plays, appears unwilling to sell him at this time.
In Serie A, Juventus also evaluate Sam Beukema from Bologna and Ardian Ismajli from Empoli as potential defensive reinforcements. Additionally, they are monitoring Jakub Kiwior and rising talent Jorrel Hatod from Ajax, although Hatod's price is expected to increase.
Since joining Flamengo in 2024, Ortiz has made 33 appearances across all competitions for the Rio de Janeiro-based club, scoring one goal and registering two assists.
