The future of Paul Pogba isn’t at Juventus despite the Frenchman having his four-year ban for a doping offense reduced to 18 months. This change means he could be back in action by 2025.
Still, transfer expert Nicolò Schira reported earlier this month that Pogba is no longer in Juventus’ plans and won’t be returning to the squad. His agents are exploring other options, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer showing interest in the French midfielder.
Pogba is set to resume training with Juventus in January and will be eligible to play in official matches by March. However, an agreement for the two parties to part ways is likely to be reached soon before the player is eligible to train.
A return to the Premier League for Paul Pogba?
While there’s nothing concrete yet for Pogba regarding where he’ll play next year, one former Arsenal player would like to see the veteran midfielder join the Gunners and return to the Premier League.
“The Premier League is the perfect place for Paul Pogba – I’d love to see him at Arsenal,” Former Arsenal player Bacary Sagna told Paddy Power (h/t Bianconera News). “It would be amazing – he’s got the experience, and he thrives when playing with younger players around him. We saw that at the 2018 World Cup, where he was at his best with familiar faces around him.
“Arsenal has a young, energetic team, and I think he’d fit right in. He’d be loved by the fans. After some time away from the game, he’ll come back hungry to reclaim his place and start playing again.”
