Juventus target Fulham standout as possible Gleison Bremer replacement
By Eduardo Razo
The January transfer window is approaching, giving Juventus a chance to find a defender to fill the gap left by Gleison Bremer, who is expected to miss the rest of the 2024-25 season due to a torn cruciate ligament injury.
With two months until the window opens, speculation about potential targets for the Old Lady is heating up. Recently, two names have emerged in the rumor mill: Milan Škriniar from Paris Saint-Germain and Léo Ortiz from Flamengo.
The former Inter Milan standout has found himself in a backup role at PSG, making him a possible option for a loan deal. On the other hand, Ortiz could be a more budget-friendly choice for Juventus if they’re looking for a temporary solution without breaking the bank.
Nonetheless, pursuing these two players presents hurdles. Juventus want to arrange a loan deal and negotiate a portion of the Slovakian defender’s salary. In the case of Ortiz, Flamengo is reluctant to let the 28-year-old go easily.
In addition to these two potential targets, there’s now another potential target on Juventus’ radar to strengthen their defense.
Will a Premier League player replace Gleison Bremer?
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus are showing strong interest in Fulham defender Joachim Andersen. The Italian media outlet notes that the Old Lady are exploring the potential cost of bringing him in, with Andersen having previous Serie A experience from his time with Sampdoria between 2017 and 2019.
Nonetheless, a move for the 28-year-old won’t be easy, considering the Denmark native only arrived to the Premier League side this past summer and is under contract until 2029.
How much could Andersen cost the Italian club? Transfermarkt puts the player’s transfer value at €35 million. The center-back has seven total appearances for Fulham this 2024-25 season.
