Juventus could be in the market this upcoming January transfer window for a striker as the Italian side are keen on providing competition for Dušan Vlahović. As a result, there's been many names that have surface in the rumor mill.
The most prominent name is LOSC Lille star Jonathan David because the Canadian will become a free agent next summer. The Old Lady will only need to agree on wages with the player and they can begin talks over a pre-contract in January.
David has been a standout for Lille since joining in 2020, scoring 97 goals in 201 appearances across all competitions. The forward has also attracted interest from other clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle United.
Even though Juventus are hot on David's trail, they could still whiff in this race. As a result, alternate options will be needed.
Is a Udinese standout on Juventus' radar?
Udinese's Lorenzo Lucca remains a transfer target for Juventus. According to (h/t TuttoJuve), the center-forward is still considered a "potential" option for January as the Bianconeri continue their search for a player to back up Vlahović.
This pursuit is further fueled by Arkadiusz Milik's ongoing injury issues, with the striker yet to feature this season. Lucca is off to an excellent start to the 2024-25 season with Udinese, scoring six goals in 13 appearances across all competitions.
Lucca is under contract until 2028, so the Serie A rival have all the leverage in any conversations for the player. Transfermarkt currently has the 24-year-old's transfer value at €18 million, but if the striker keeps scoring goals at an impressive rate, expect any asking price to double.
