Juventus are reportedly looking to bolster their defense ahead of the January transfer window, with one potential target already under consideration.
While the summer transfer window saw the arrival of Juan Cabal from Hellas Verona, Juventus prioritized strengthening their midfield and adding depth to their wings. However, the center-back position remains a key focus, as no significant additions were made in this area during the summer.
As a result, Juventus have begun scouting defensive options for the 2024-25 season. In September, TuttoJuve reported that they have been closely monitoring Feyenoord’s Dávid Hancko as a potential target for their defense.
The Slovakian center-back has impressed Juventus scouts with his performances, though his future is uncertain, particularly with his price tag reportedly set at a minimum of €40 million.
Juventus face hurdle for Dávid Hancko
Aside from the Serie A giants, Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Hancko, with the Slovakian defender among their top center-back targets. According to TBRFootball, Spurs are seeking a left-sided defender to provide cover for Micky van de Ven, and Hancko could be available in January.
Spurs have scouted the Slovakian international multiple times and are reportedly ready to move. His price tag is believed to have dropped, now rumored to be lower than the £35 million valuation from the summer per the report.
Tottenham aren't the only hurdle that Juventus are facing to secure the defender. Tutto Juve reports that Juventus have stepped up their efforts to sign Hancko, one of their defensive targets for January or June.
Feyenoord are holding firm, but as usual, it will come down to the player's decision. If Hancko is eager to join Juventus, the move could go through on loan with an obligation to buy. If not, the deal will likely be pushed to the summer.
