Juventus sold Federico Chiesa to Liverpool this past summer transfer window for a reported £10 million upfront, plus £2.5 million in add-ons, which depend on Liverpool winning the Premier League and Champions League.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Anfield, reportedly for the same wages he earned at Juventus. Having spent his entire first-team career in Italy, this move marks a significant change for Chiesa.

Arne Slot recently discussed the Italian player’s adaptation on the pitch, mentioning that he’s not yet fit to play a full 90 minutes. This is why the process of getting him match-ready is gradual, involving short appearances off the bench.

“He’s not quite ready to start yet, but if he’s in the squad, it means he’s available,” Slot told Sky Sports. “We need to get him up to speed because, after the European Championship, he’s been training on his own and hasn’t had many friendlies. He’s working hard, which is great, and he might get a few minutes.”

Is Liverpool ready to move on from Federico Chiesa?

Chiesa has three appearances across all competitions while registering one assist while playing a total of 78 minutes. As a result, the Premier League side could decide on a loan move to allow him to get his footing ready elsewhere or choose to chalk this up as a failed transfer decision.

Calciomercato reports that Chiesa is being linked with a loan move away from Liverpool as he looks to regain form, with AC Milan, Roma, and Inter Milan all potential options.

If the former Juventus ace doesn’t see significant playing time, these rumors of a potential departure will only get louder.
