CaughtOffside recently reported that Barcelona are interested in bringing Thomas Partey back to LaLiga from Arsenal. However, it looks like Juventus currently has the strongest interest in the midfielder.

The report also mentions that Juventus are ready to offer Partey a three-year contract. The 31-year-old has been with Arsenal since 2020, making 118 appearances and contributing six goals and four assists.

If he doesn’t sign a contract extension by December 31, the Ghanaian midfielder could leave Arsenal as a free agent. From January 2025, he’ll be free to sign a pre-contract with another club and move on to a new chapter in his career.

No return to LaLiga for Thomas Partey?

Partey is expected to leave Arsenal in the summer of 2025, and transfer expert Matteo Moretto believes a return to La Liga is unlikely. This situation leaves the door open for Juventus and Saudi Arabian clubs to potentially sign the veteran midfielder.

“Personally, I don’t see Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey returning to Spain, at least not to Atletico Madrid, and probably not to Barcelona either," Moretto wrote in his latest exclusive column for CaughtOffside’s The Daily Briefing. "Put simply, things did not end well with Atletico before he went to Arsenal, and he is not on the agenda for Barcelona.

“During the course of the summer, he had approaches from Italy and from Saudi Arabia, perhaps even other Premier League sides. Barcelona and Atletico have both turned to the free agent market in the past, and Partey is only four months away from being able to sign a deal, but honestly, I don’t see him going to either of these two teams, at least as things stand currently.”

A recent report from TuttoJuve indicates that Juventus are unlikely to pursue Partey, as they are focusing on younger talents with more affordable salaries.
