Juventus may look to add a player with Serie A experience during the January transfer window to strengthen their center-back options for the second half of the 2024-25 season.
Calciomercato reported last weekend that several clubs are seeking to reinforce their defenses. Napoli, Juventus, and Inter Milan are all considering new central defenders in January.
The report indicates that Juventus plans to contact Arsenal in the coming months to explore the potential financial aspects of a deal for Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Tomiyasu, who joined Arsenal from Bologna in 2021, has a contract that runs until 2026. Arsenal might contemplate selling him to secure a transfer fee, primarily if they don’t act after this season, as he would have only one year left on his deal, prompting the Gunners to consider cashing in.
Moreover, the 25-year-old has seen his playing time diminish significantly following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori.
Arsenal name asking price for Tomiyasu
According to TuttoJuve, Juventus are reportedly monitoring Tomiyasu for next season. The defender, whose contract runs until 2026, has caught the attention of Inter, Milan, and Juventus. Arsenal are willing to discuss a transfer and are asking for just €20 million.
However, the Old Lady have some reservations, particularly concerning Tomiyasu's physical condition, and would prefer to pursue a loan deal—something that doesn’t appeal to Arsenal.
The Japanese international has played 83 times for Arsenal, scoring two goals and assisting on six others. Before joining Arsenal, Tomiyasu spent time in Serie A, where he made 64 appearances for the Italian club from 2019 to 2021.
