Juventus will be busy heading into Friday's summer transfer deadline as they look to resolve the future of forward Federico Chiesa. The 26-year-old's contract expires in 2025, so this summer could be the Italian club's last chance to secure a fee for the player.
Chiesa has been a hot commodity in these last few days, as recent information linked the player to FC Barcelona.
According to SPORT, the 2021 UEFA Euro winner must take a pay cut, lowering his salary from €5 million to €4 million. Barcelona are asking for this to comply with financial fair play regulations.
Nonetheless, Barcelona aren't alone in looking to land Chiesa from Juventus before the summer window closes.
Liverpool enter the Chiesa race
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that negotiations are ongoing among all parties to finalize the deal, and Liverpool are feeling optimistic that the two sides can reach an agreement.
Moreover, Romano notes that the Reds are currently the only club to have made formal contact with Juventus despite the ongoing Barcelona rumors.

The Athletic's David Ornstein also provided information on the Chiesa file as he reports that the player is available for around €15 million.
Ornstein adds that the reason Liverpool are looking to scoop up the Italian standout this week is because the Premier League side have admired the forward for a number of years.
As a result, Liverpool decided to capitalize on the situation and are discussing a possible four-year contract, per Ornstein.

If this is the end, Juventus would be saying goodbye to a player who made 131 appearances since joining the club in 2022 while scoring 32 goals and registering 23 assists. Furthermore, Chiesa won two Coppa Italia trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana.
