FC Porto's Francisco Conceição is reportedly on his way to be part of the Juventus squad for the 2024-25 season. However, one journalist isn't impressed with the forward but understands why the Serie A club is taking a gamble on him.
On Saturday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Juventus will pay Porto a €7 million loan fee for Conceição, with an additional €3 million if they qualify for next season's Champions League.
The winger had a fantastic 2023-24 season with his boyhood club, making 43 appearances and contributing eight goals and eight assists. As a result, the 21-year-old drew interest this summer and now appears to be on his way to Juventus.
However, a stay in Turin shouldn't be long-term as there's no option to buy, so Conceição will return to Porto in July 2025, per Romano. Still, it will be interesting to see if the Portuguese side are open to a sale, especially if the player impresses.
Paolo Rossi is not impressed with Conceição
Italian journalist Paolo Rossi went on X, formerly Twitter, and shared his thoughts on Conceição's reported arrival in Turin. Rossi cited the player's time at Ajax and expressed that he's not celebrating this transfer decision—at least not yet.
"I'll be honest: Conceicao at Ajax didn’t impress me at all," Riolo wrote on X Saturday. "But I haven’t seen him at Porto, and he’s only 21 years old—it’s a gamble that makes sense.
