Serie A switch on the cards for unwanted Juventus winger

Igor Tudor got a rude awakening when his fringe players tackled Manchester City.

The Juve head coach’s option to rest key squad members, and replace them with players that he wanted to rule his eye over, backfired badly.

It was a one-sided 2025 FIFA Club World Cup clash against the defending champions, with the Bianconeri’s confidence bruised and battered following their 5-2 mauling.

There were some positives from the game in Florida. Kenan Yildiz stood head and shoulders above his team-mates with his polished performance, despite only being thrown on as a second-half substitute.

Dusan Vlahovic, the striker who desperately wants to move to a Premier League club this summer, netted his second Club World Cup goal.

Second choice players were exposed when given the chance to impress, with Tudor surely eager to have a summer clear-out once the return to Italy after the Club World Cup.

Kostic's Real Madrid links

Juve are expected to be sent packing by Real Madrid when the teams  meet in the last 16 of the US-based extravaganza next Tuesday.

Left midfielder/winger Filip Kostic was on the losing side against City and may not get a chance against Real Madrid to impress potential suitors.

Yet he is being strongly considered as a like-for-like replacement for Matteo Ruggeri at Atalanta, who appears to be on the verge of an imminent departure to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old has also attracted Serie A attention from AC Milan, Parma and Torino.

Sancho deal reignited

Last summer he came perilously close to joining Fiorentina, but the last-gasp deal collapsed and scuppered Juve from landing Manchester United misfit Jadon Sancho on a season-long loan.

Yet there was space generated to bring in Sancho, who went to Chelsea last term on loan, as Kostic was sent to Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

With serious interest resurfacing in veteran Kostic, Juve have renewed their interest in Sancho.
