At least one in, one out anticipated at Juventus this week

Juve’s poor performance in Saturday’s 2-2 to Serie B side AC Reggiana may have pushed the club to start splashing the cash.

A midfield general is required, with the imminent departures of Fabio Miretti to Napoli and Timothy Weah to Olympique Marseille, unsettled Douglas Luiz edging toward a Premier League return and Weston McKennie’s future up in the air.

The club desperately require the financial clout from player sales as they have a plethora of midfield targets, and could aim for the safety of a proven Serie A star in Sofyan Amrabat from Fenerbahce.

Juventus are also aiming to seal the exit of center forward Dusan Vlahovic, their top scorer over the past three seasons, using the money to help towards securing the transfer of striker Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.

Serbia star Vlahovic scored for the Bianconeri within three minutes of his second-half arrival against Reggiana, but is expected to be sold to rivals AC Milan or make the move to La Liga giants Villarreal.

Juventus want a double attack

With goal poacher Jonathan David signed as a free agent, effectively as the replacement for Vlahovic, the club also want another top-notch striker with last season’s loanee Muani ticking all the boxes.

Although Muani was the second-choice target man for Tudor when he joined Juve for their final nine Serie A games, he impressed after stepping in for injured Vlahovic.

Tudor has made a complete U-turn about the brilliance of Vlahovic and Muani set to play second fiddle, and has convinced the Juve hierarchy about bringing back the former French international to Turin.

PSG and Juventus talks advance

Negotiations between Juventus and PSG have labored over the past three weeks, as the French champions wanted to sell Muani.

The player has turned down approaches from Premier League sides Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as he prefers Juventus.

Juve are only willing to take the 26-year-old on a season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy, which is expected to be around €30 million (US$34.7m).

If the club can land Muani, who scored 10 goals 22 appearances, then he would join Tudor’s troops after Juve have tackled Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park on 10 August, their last pre-season friendly before their Serie A season kicks off on 24 August.
