Juventus could be looking to strengthen their defense ahead of the January transfer window, with a potential target already in mind.

As Thiago Motta embarks on his first season as manager, the Old Lady are expected to undergo a gradual transformation, and multiple transfer windows will be crucial in aligning the squad with his tactical vision.

While the summer transfer window saw Juan Cabal arrive from Hellas Verona, Juventus mainly focused on bolstering the midfield and adding depth on the wings. However, the center-back position remains a priority for the Serie A giants, who didn't make significant additions to this area in the last window.

Despite this, Juventus has already begun monitoring potential defensive reinforcements for the 2024-25 season.

A Premier League club have their eyes on Dávid Hancko

In September, TuttoJuve reported that Juventus are closely monitoring Feyenoord defender Dávid Hancko as part of their search for defensive reinforcements.

The Slovakian center-back has caught the attention of Juventus scouts with his impressive performances, but his future remains uncertain, especially with his current price tag set at a minimum of €40 million.

Despite Juventus’ interest, it remains unclear whether Feyenoord's technical director, Dennis te Kloese, would be willing to part with Hancko. The defender recently signed a contract extension with the Dutch club, committing to the club until mid-2028, which could see his price rise even further.

Tottenham have been linked with several center-backs to strengthen their defense, with Feyenoord's Hancko among the top targets. According to TBRFootball, Spurs are looking for a left-sided defender to back up Micky van de Ven, and Hancko could be available in January.

Spurs have scouted the Slovakian international on multiple occasions and are reportedly prepared to pursue him. His price tag is also believed to be dropping, now suggested to be lower than the £35 million valuation from the summer.
